Abstract

This article presents an analysis of various approaches to the study of "the image of the future state" as complex concept which made it possible to develop its author's definition for further application in political research. The systematization of the factors of the formation of the "image of the future state" is presented, as well as the methods, mechanisms, and technologies of its formation, which allowed to present the image of the future in the form of a dichotomous model consisting of an unchangeable "core", which is a strategic view of the future state of the state in the long term, formed in accordance with the fundamental value orientations dominant in society, surrounded by a changeable a "shell", understood as a set of short-term oriented characteristics, capable of transformation under the influence of various external and internal factors.
