Based on a mass survey of 961 students, the article assesses participation in elections, voting and non-voting motivations, party identification, and attitudes towards multi-party systems. The study reveals a combination of relatively high willingness to participate in elections and extremely low stable party identification, as well as the prevalence of substantive voting motivations over administrative ones. Moreover, students declare their support for democratic procedures, while expressing moderate trust in parties and widespread political skepticism. This suggests that the youth electorate is a potentially significant but under-institutionalized resource for regional party competition. These findings contribute to our understanding of the political socialization of young people and can be used to develop strategies for engaging with the youth electorate.
