Abstract

The age-sex structure of indigenous small-numbered peoples of the Russian Federation was analyzed using data from the All-Russian Population Census of 2020. Using methods of statistical and cluster analysis, typological groups of peoples were identified based on the similarity of demographic characteristics. Two clearly distinct demographic types were identified: cluster I with a predominance of a young population and cluster II with a predominance of older persons. Quantitative indicators and distinctive features of each type are presented. Conclusions are drawn about the demographic sustainability of some groups and the risks of depopulation of others; directions for further research and support measures for indigenous small-numbered peoples are proposed.
