Abstract

This article is devoted to the key transformation processes (both traditional and innovative) in the sociocultural sphere of contemporary Russia. The key areas of transformation taking place in sociocultural institutions that are fundamental to the country’s contemporary social reality – such as education, culture and science – are highlighted. The authors examine the following processes: digital transformation, the decisive role of the state and its interests, the creation of new opportunities for growth and «personal empowerment» within the sociocultural space, aspects of commercialisation and so forth. Based on the scientific analysis, as well as the findings of domestic analytical and empirical studies (Rosstat, WCIOM, HSE ISSEK, Online learning platform «Netology», Russian Ministry of Education, Russian Ministry of Culture, ASI Centre for Creative Economy), the article demonstrates the pronounced turbulence and multidimensional nature of the ongoing changes encompassing the technological, value-based and institutional levels of society’s functioning. One can note the scientific and practical significance of this research area.
