Abstract

Introduction. The relevance of the research is related to the fact that patriotism as a social phenomenon is undergoing a historical transformation. Special attention is paid to the factors and conditions of the formation of patriotic values among the youth of the Republic of Crimea. The article substantiates the specifics of the conditions in which patriotic values are formed, the connection of these processes with the reunification of Crimea with Russia in 2014 and the conduct of a special military operation. Methods. The empirical basis of the study was the results of a questionnaire survey and an online survey conducted by the staff of the Crimean branch of the Federal Research Sociological Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2025 in the Republic of Crimea. The total sample of the study was 864 respondents. Additionally, data from a questionnaire survey conducted by the staff of the CB FRSC RAS in 2019 (n=374 respondents) were used. The data obtained was processed in Easy Sociology 2000 using descriptive statistics and content analysis of open issues. Results and its discussion. The data obtained in the course of the research allowed us to show the state of patriotic values of the Crimean youth: the dynamics of the identity of the Crimean youth associated with the regional factor «small Homeland» is considered. Minor internal migration and the interrelation of the indigenous inhabitants of the peninsula with the desire to stay in Crimea have been revealed. However, along with this, external migration processes related to refugees, displaced persons and migrants from foreign countries can have an impact on the patriotic values of young people. The article examines the attitude to patriotism and patriotic values, the role and influence of the media from both positive and negative sides.
