Abstract

The article analyzes the peculiarities of the representation of professional women's labor in the information and communication space of the Soviet state during the Great Patriotic War in the rear territories. The purpose of the article is to identify the peculiarities of the presentation in the media of aspects related to the «masculinization» of women's professional work, based on newspaper articles from the war years. As a result of the presented interdisciplinary research, it is concluded that the information and communication policy regarding women's employment during the war years was based on the urgent need to replenish the male working-age population. This factor has seriously accelerated the process of women's inclusion in the «male» spheres of the national economy, changing the professional requirements for workers, influencing the transformation of the social space in the context of rethinking the roles and expectations of women in the labor market.
