Abstract

The scientific article examines the phenomenon of parliamentary diplomacy, which has been actively developing in countries of the world in recent years, using the example of the Russian Federation. The purpose of this scientific article is to analyze the practice of implementing parliamentary diplomacy of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation during the period of increasing sanctions pressure from the point of view of the most effective and promising areas in the current geopolitical reality. As a result of the research, it has been established that Russian parliamentary diplomacy at the present stage is represented by Eastern, Latin American and African directions, which not only correspond to the concept of national foreign policy, meet the urgent tasks of the state's foreign activities, but also contribute to the development of parliamentary diplomacy and increase its effectiveness. At the same time, the forms of implementation of Russia's parliamentary diplomacy are different. It has been established that parliamentary diplomacy is one of the tools for the development of international cooperation in other areas, integration, overcoming sanctions pressure, as well as the formation of a multipolar world system.
