The object of the study is rural youth within the labor market, while the subject is the migration attitudes of this socio-demographic group. An interdisciplinary approach served as the primary methodological framework, drawing upon the scholarly works of both domestic and international researchers—such as L.L. Rybakovsky, D.P. Maevsky, I.I. Kozhevnikova, M.A. Kartseva, N.V. Mkrtchyan, Yu.F. Florinskaya, M.K. Gorshkov, F.E. Sheregi, E.A. Trofimova, S.L. Kuznetsova, S. Agarwal, S. Rahman, A. Errington, and others—as well as economic data (from Rosstat). The study is theoretically grounded in contemporary approaches to understanding youth labor and career prospects, value orientations, and life choices; these include economic perspectives (internal educational migration), socio-psychological frameworks (the «social psychology of personality»), sociological concepts («migration attitudes» and «social comparison theory»), and the concept of «social space.» Collectively, within the domestic research landscape, these approaches provided the foundation for contributing to the development of the relatively new concept of «sense of place.»
