Abstract

This article traces the two‑sided impact of the online learning format in higher education on students’ psychosocial well‑being and the quality of professional competency development demanded by the contemporary labor market. Based on a synthesis of empirical studies from the post‑pandemic period, the study identifies key risk factors (social isolation, digital burnout, and the blurring of boundaries between academic and personal life) and protective mechanisms (structured communication, institutional psychological support, and hybrid models). The article demonstrates that the distance format promotes the development of digital literacy and self‑regulation skills while reducing the quality of soft skills development and practical experience. Recommendations are formulated for optimizing online learning through the implementation of psychosocial state monitoring, revision of pedagogical practices, and integration of employer requirements into educational trajectories.
