The current level of technology development and accessibility has made it possible over the past few years to make significant progress in automating many tasks that previously required direct human involvement. This has become possible, among other things, due to the intensive and very rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies (including neural networks), which made it possible to «train» information systems to «solve» intellectual tasks. It is becoming obvious that in such conditions the labor market will not just be transformed. This will affect changes in the requirements for employees (their knowledge and competencies), and a complete rethink and revision of approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of human labor awaits him. The article presents the results of research on possible transformations of the modern Russian labor market, including an analysis of the emergence of «new» (in-demand) and disappearance of «old» (less in demand) professions, as well as the necessary skills and competencies with intensive digitalization and the development of AI technologies. In this case, the results of desk and field research were used, namely, a survey of experts on the designated topic. The results obtained may be of interest not only to representatives of federal and regional authorities, but also to analysts, specialists and scientists who study similar problems and issues of changing the domestic labor market under the influence of modern challenges.
