Abstract

The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze emerging new requests for the diversification of necessary IT and AI competencies of employees based on secondary data sources, as well as empirical material from the pilot survey, from the perspective of the expediency of improving them to ensure effective individual work. In modern realities, AI technologies are used not only as a means to obtain the necessary information, but are increasingly being used to solve analytical and production tasks. The rapid development of AI has affected the work of employees: employers' requirements for applicants and for all educational programs have changed. This has caused the «disappearance» of some professions and the emergence of «new» specialists who need different skills and competencies in terms of using the arsenal of AI capabilities in their work. The authors of the article use the classic design of conducting socio-economic research: the first part examines open sources, monitoring, statistical data, publications and reviews of secondary information (based on methods of content analysis and a systematic approach). The second one analyzes the primary information (the results of the author's search pilot studies: a survey of experts and end users implemented on the basis of the ISEPN of the FNSC RAS in 2025—2026). Thanks to this approach, unique territorial (regional) data has been obtained, which allows us to form (define) four groups of competencies necessary for specialists who are focused on the use of AI technology in their work. Based on the results of the author's empirical data, it is shown that almost 80% of modern students use AI to complete university teachers' assignments, and more than 40% are confident that in their future work they will need the skills and competencies to use new generative technologies. The existing limitations of the results obtained are related to the number of experts interviewed, as well as the geography of the survey (in-depth interviews), predetermined by the pilot study (testing of the toolkit). However, the logical continuation of the study will be to expand the geographical coverage and increase the number of expert respondents involved to ensure a more representative sample. The data obtained can become the basis for deepening knowledge and discourses related to the need to develop a competence-based approach in the field of AI use. The identified strategies also predetermined the need and proved the expediency of transformations in the system of training and retraining of personnel for the strategic development of the domestic industry and the economy as a whole.
