People's dreams in China and in Russia (Мечты людей в Китае и в России)

Abstract

This book is based on the results of the nationwide sociological researches conducted in 2012-2013 in Russia by the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and China by the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The results of these studies allowed to define the features of the Russian social project in comparison with the «social projects» proposed in other cultural traditions, including in particular the Chinese. The authors focus on defining the basic elements of Russian Dream and Chinese dream of an ideal society, not only in relation to society as a whole, but also to the personal future in the part, which is somehow connected with the society. Much attention is paid to the identification of factors affecting the prevalence of individual elements of the image of the desired future, in particular - the actual situation in the relevant areas of life of the two countries. Of particular interest is analysis of the dynamics of social consciousness in all key areas of life, the results of which are also presented in the book.
