Abstract

The evolution of the modern model of liberal civic education is under examination in the article. Taking into the account the co-evolution - intellectual and institutional - from the period from French revolution upto World Wars the author shows the dependence of historically local variations of civic education from the development of the industrial metropolis and the concept of citizenship.
