Abstract

Today, the second wave of depopulation is of serious concern, which determines the deterioration of the achieved results of demographic development (slowing down the intensity of mortality reduction, reducing the achieved birth rate). In this regard, it is of practical importance to assess the effectiveness of the state demographic policy in the context of determining the achievement of priority tasks, first of all, the growth of the birth rate. The purpose of the study was a comprehensive analysis of the sustainability of demographic development in Russia, based on the assessment of the dynamics of the most important demographic indicators, as well as the calculation of a composite indicator - the coefficient of severity of the growth of sustainable demographic development. The results of the study allowed us to formulate reasonable conclusions about the possibilities of achieving or not achieving a number of priority tasks approved by the Concept of Demographic Policy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025. and, as a consequence, about the effectiveness of measures to reduce mortality and the failure of demographic policy in the field of fertility and reproduction of the population.
