Abstract

The analytical report was prepared by the research team of the Institute for Demographic Research FCTAS RAS. The report examines trends in the demographic development of the countries of the former USSR during 19912021. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of demographic and migration processes, as well as the effectiveness of the demographic and migration policies of the countries of the former USSR over thirty years with some forecast estimates of the population dynamics in the region in the medium term. Data from the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS, National Statistical Services, Eurostat and international organizations of the UN system were used in the preparation of this analytical report. The report is addressed to government officials, researchers, university professors, postgraduates and students.
