Abstract

Issues of developing mutual trade and ensuring food security between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union began to receive more attention, both in connection with the beginning of the sanctions wars and the subsequent course of our country on import substitution, and during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is noted that in 2020, due to the pandemic, the usual economic ties between many countries began to collapse. The coronavirus pandemic catalyzes processes in the world and in its individual regions, affects the global balance of power in the already changing international world order. And in these difficult conditions of the impact of extreme factors, the skillful organization of ensuring food security of the population is of particular importance. Such a situation of emerging issues of risks and threats in the context of global instability implies a natural organizational connection between economics and politics and the need to understand how these economic processes determine what is happening in politics and react to changes in it. And here it is important to emphasize the importance of the problem not only in production, but also in public terms, since agriculture as a branch of the national economy initially began to develop in the living space of the single integration space of the Eurasian Economic Union. This study is necessary for an objective assessment of the state of the main trends characterizing the current state of food security of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is noted that without further deepening the integration of the EAEU member states, it is impossible to solve the current and future tasks for the development of the national economies of each of the union countries. Only joint actions of these countries can achieve a multiplicative effect in strengthening their economic potential. The results of the monitoring are based on the generalization of experience and monitoring of macroeconomic indicators that determine the effectiveness of social and economic development of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
