Abstract

The author uses in the article the materials of sociological research conducted in the Republic of Tyva in 2019 and 2021. The research was devoted to the study of the problems of poverty and socio-structural changes in the republic. The author draws the following conclusions based on the analysis of the research results. In quantitative terms, the level of employment in Tuva is not decreasing under the conditions of the pandemic, which, of course, can be considered a positive fact. The most affected industries in the region are the service sector, as well as transport and communications. In Tuva, the trend recorded by the 2019 study is changing about the predominance and growth of demand for low-skilled professions in the labor market of the region. The coronavirus pandemic has stopped the process of reducing the unemployment rate that has begun in the region. Moreover, she turned it around. It is impossible to say with full confidence that the decline process has recovered.
