Basing on sociological surveys among modern students of secondary and higher educational institutions (both secular and religious), the article provides an analysis of students’ circle of trust continuity and variation in the course of their life. The religious factor’s impact on choosing an authority has also been demonstrated here. The conclusion is that Russian youth’s circle of trust has been narrowing, and the church’s authority has been faltering during the recent years. The author recommends raising awareness of sociologists and other concerned actors for the current issues.
