Abstract

In political sociology, which integrates the capabilities of social and political sciences, there are several proven and recognized research approaches in the theoretical and empirical study of political regimes in various countries. Of particular importance is the methodology and techniques aimed at monitoring changes in social and political processes. The results of international comparative studies record a decline in the level of development of democracy in countries around the world. The crisis of democracy is beginning to manifest itself in developed countries. More and more countries are moving into a hybrid form of the political regime. The author builds a model of sociological measurement of the level of development of democracy, based on the comparison of the forms of political regime declared by the Constitution of the Russian Federation and implemented in practice. The dynamic characteristics of key indicators reflecting important principles of democratic development in the country allowed us to highlight the features of the functioning political regime. In general, Russia has developed a hybrid form with the dominance of anti-democratic elements. This type of political regime made it possible to find optimal management levers in difficult time periods and to promptly respond to increased risks to sustainable socio-political and economic development.
