Abstract

The monograph presents the results of a study of a number of Russian regions on the problems of forming trusting relations between the government and society to ensure the stability of the existing political system and, as a result, improve the well-being of citizens. The authors see the solution of the problems facing the regions on the way to create an eff ective mechanism of interaction between the authorities and citizens on the basis of a new social contract, which assumes joint civil and state responsibility for achieving an appropriate image of the future of the region. To monitor the dynamics of changes in the level of public confi dence in the regional government, an appropriate method of measuring it is proposed. In addition, the revealed relationship between the state of trust relations in society and its internal consolidation made it possible to formulate proposals for the creation of a promising system of depolarization of the population, synchronized with the social processes taking place in regional society. In order to measure the level of social tension in society, which determines the degree of its consolidation, an appropriate measurement methodology has been developed, which is based on a method for assessing basic social values. The book is intended for the heads of the highest executive bodies of state power of the subjects of the Russian Federation, regional specialists in the fi eld of regional political management and strategic planning, as well as specialists and students in the fi eld of relations between government, business and civil society.
