On the basis of archival and unpublished sources, it was possible to establish that the village of Kozhukhovo was founded as the Kozhikov Ilibeloyusky Kyzyl ulus in the middle of the XIX century. In written sources , this ulus has been recorded since the end of the XIX century . The ulus was a permanent settlement, its founders and all the inhabitants were engaged in agriculture and cattle breeding.During the first more than half a century of its existence, the Kozhikov ulus faced problems that limited its demographic and economic development. In 1917 the population of the ulus has reached 57 people.
