Abstract

The authors presented a study of the cultural sphere of Salekhard, the administrative center of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, considered strategic decisions of state and municipal authorities to develop the socio-cultural appearance of the Arctic city. The sociospatial approach made it possible to reveal Salekhard taking into account the peculiarities of his history, socio-economic, ethnocultural and political status. The article outlines some of the results of the examination of the Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of Salekhard until 2030 in the field of culture, the success of its influence on transformation, as well as the development of cultural practice, the professional staff of cultural institutions, support for traditional forms of cultural life of the population (including indigenous peoples of the North), the development of new modern directions of creativity and cultural practice of citizens.
