Abstract

The article analyzes the problems of providing the population with key social infrastructure facilities responsible for the formation and development of the human potential of small towns of Bashkortostan – health, education and culture institutions. The information is mainly collected from reports and program documents of relevant departments of municipalities, as well as alternative data sources (maps, websites of institutions etc.). The differentiation of small towns by the sufficiency of social infrastructure facilities is shown, the key problems and needs of citizens, as well as the advantages they have compared to residents of rural and other larger urban settlements are identified. Measures to solve the personnel problems of a small city, to improve statistics for monitoring the provision of social infrastructure facilities of municipalities and small towns, in particular, are proposed.
