Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyze the impact of remittances of migrant workers from Russia to Central Asian countries on the economic situation of countries at the macro and micro levels. The methodological basis of the study is represented by various approaches to the analysis of the share of remittances in the production of GDP of Central Asian countries - exporters of labor and the structure of the use of remittances at the household level of migrant workers. The results of the study. Remittances (remittances) of migrant workers arriving in Central Asian countries account for a significant, albeit different, share in the GDP of these countries. In addition, the use of remittances by migrant labor households in Central Asian countries has a positive impact on the expansion of household consumption of goods and services, which stimulates not only quantitative but also qualitative growth in consumption, an increase in the range of goods and services, increases the possibility and availability of imports, and consequently, the development of international trade. As households’ demand for goods and services is met, the positive impact of remittances on the entrepreneurial and investment activity of the population increases. The prospects of the study consist in further analysis of the factors and directions of investment growth in Central Asian countries due to remittances of migrant workers.
