Abstract

The problems related to the realization of the rights of people with disabilities in the field of employment require a comprehensive and in-depth study. The information base of the paper was statistical data and the results of a questionnaire survey of disabled people in Moscow. The focus of the research is the employment potential of people, who for health reasons, can work and want to have a job. Three categories of disabled people were identified, namely unemployed, potential labor force, as well as those who wanted to work, but did not make any efforts. Their attitudes were analyzed in relation to the suitable work, as well as the reasons for rejecting the proposed work. This approach helped to characterize the barriers preventing the employment of young people with disabilities. A number of recommendations have been formulated to expand the employment opportunities of the unemployed and to stimulate the entry into the labor market of potential workers and those who want to work, taking into account their expectations and requests.
