Abstract

The article shows that macroidentity is a product of projective social management, lays the foundation for the socio-political stability of the country, acts as a basic factor of civil unity, interethnic harmony. Long-term research of the Institute of Sociology of FCTAS RAS shows that the statement we are citizens of Russia is shared by two-thirds of the country's population. It has become deeply stable and is perceived by both Russians and representatives of other nationalities. In the conditions of confrontation with the Russian world, an extremely high consolidation of society is formed on civilizational grounds, subordinating, but not canceling, contradictions of socio-structural and other levels, but requiring the creation of a civilizational project for the development of society. There is a growing need for a civilizational redefinition of its place and role in the modern world. The issue of forming an alternative to the Western civilizational development project, the implementation of which would be able to consolidate the vast majority of Russian society, is on the agenda, which puts the problems of civil identity in the category of priority tasks of political governance
