Abstract

Purpose of the study is an analysis of the types of youth organizations of ethnic orientation based on the specifics of their activities.Methodology. As an empirical basis the results of in-depth interviews were taken. Interviews were conducted with the leaders of ethnic youth public associations of the Rostov region and the officials of the implementation of national policy in the region. The main criterion for distinguishing three groups of youth associations is the nature of their activities.Results. Based on the results of the study, three types of ethnic youth organizations were identified in the Rostov region: innovative, traditional and adaptive. The main features of the innovative type are a new format of events, active management of social networks, independence, a large scale of projects, and the involvement of various target audiences. Ethnic youth organizations of the traditional type are distinguished by the organization and participation in traditional national and religious events, significant dependence on state funding, little attention to managing social networks, a small scale of projects, and the involvement of various groups of target audiences. Ethnic youth organizations of the adaptation type are characterized by the representation of migrants, activities for their adaptation, legal assistance, life support, poor management of social networks, heavy dependence on state funding, cooperation with law enforcement agencies, as well as holding traditional events.Research prospects. Differentiation of types of ethnic youth organizations makes it possible to take into account their specificity in order to attract young people of certain categories and optimize the socio-regulatory function in the youth environment. The policy in the field of ethno-national interactions can be more focused on understanding the specifics of the activities of such organizations, which is relevant not only for the Rostov region, but also for other regions with similar management tasks.
