Abstract

The article discusses different formats of the concept of multiple identity, as a unity of the diversity of features from the point of view of various conceptual research approaches, while the concept of multiple identity itself is interpreted as being formed on the basis of concepts that, respectively, are a generalization of the social practices of identification mechanisms in specific disciplinary studies of the phenomenon of multiple identity. According to this, the concept of multiple identity is interpreted as a transdisciplinary metaconcept. The main formats of the phenomenon of multiple identity are the change in the identification process in the form of the disintegration of self-identity and the formation of a holistic image of one’s own “I” and the tran- sition to the decentration of the subject in a modern society with complex social dynamics, in accordance with which, the identity of the individual is pluralistic, permanently transformable, hybrid, not reducible to one value base, derived from many sociocultural practices, i.e. multiple. The objective social foundations of multiple identities are the global dynamics of the development of Социология No5 2022 211 the social environment, including global migration processes, the development of the urban environment, which is the sociocultural basis of multiple identification processes, the development of the information society, in particular, the development of such global forms of communication and information interaction as social networks, expansion of the role potential of individ- uals in a variety of sociocultural practices. The article discusses different formats of theconcept of multiple identity, as a unity of the di-versity of features from the point of view of vari-ous conceptual research approaches, while theconcept of multiple identity itself is interpretedas being formed on the basis of concepts that,respectively, are a generalization of the socialpractices of identification mechanisms in specific disciplinary studies of the phenomenon ofmultiple identity.
