Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the formation of the Soviet-Mongolian cooperation in the field of sports. The focus of the study is the interaction between Mongolia and Eastern Siberia. Based on the materials of the periodical press, it has been established that the first competition between Mongolian and Soviet athletes in Eastern Siberia was a chess tournament in 1957. In 1958-1959, competitions in chess, football, volleyball, skating and cross-country skiing were held in the region; training camps were held by cyclists. Cooperation with Eastern Siberia has largely ensured the development of modern sports in Mongolia.
