Abstract

The subject of the analysis is feelings towards Russia and the role of generalized (generalized) trust in the dynamics of Russian identity. Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that generalized trust (trust in people in general) can be considered as a natural prerequisite for nationwide Russian consolidation, since a high level of generalized trust creates a favorable ground for the formation of a positive all-Russian identity and attitudes of interethnic tolerance. In addition, it was found that positive feelings about one's own country play a significant role in the formation of Russian identity. Despite its lability and elusiveness, the emotional component of Russian identity has sufficient power to influence the processes of national-civil consolidation.
