Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of issues of informal employment in Mongolia and the regions of the Russian-Mongolian borderland - the republics of Buryatia and Tuva. Informal employment is considered as an adaptation mechanism of the population in the context of modern socio-economic challenges. The analysis of statistical data showed the importance of the problems of informal employment for the studied territories and the need to resolve them by methods of state regulation. The introduction of the status of self-employed in Russian practice marked the beginning of the legalization of informal workers, the possibility of their registration through a special tax regime and the provision of state support measures, especially in times of crisis. This tax regime has also become available for individual entrepreneurs who wish to receive state support. The transformation of society and labor markets has influenced the revitalization of traditional economic practices in the Russian-Mongolian transboundary. The consolidation of the institution of private property in society and the diversification of economic sectors contribute to the spread of free professions in society.
