Abstract

The relevance of the study is determined by unfavorable demographic trends - a decrease in the male population, which negatively affects the processes of natural reproduction. Marital and reproductive attitudes of men are factors in achieving demographic stability of the Russian Federation, influencing the creation and development of the institution of a child (large) Russian family. The purpose of the study is to determine the main directions of state policy regarding the self-preservation behavior of men and the strengthening of the socio-demographic capital of the male population as the main resource for ensuring the national security of the Russian Federation. Men as a socio-demographic group should become a target group in the Strategy of Actions for Saving Men and Supporting Responsible Fatherhood, achieving demographic Sustainability of the Russian Federation. The methodological basis of the study is the basic provisions of the concept of self-preservation behavior, family well-being. The results of the study. The most important final result of the analysis on the stated issues is the need to take measures at the state level aimed at creating conditions for saving the male population and forming responsible fatherhood as an important resource for ensuring the national security of the Russian Federation. The paper systematizes the key concepts, presents the results aimed at determining the main directions of state policy in relation to the self-preservation behavior of men, responsible fatherhood. The prospects of the study are related to the development of methodological recommendations to the subjects of the Russian Federation on the formation of regional plans and management mechanisms aimed at creating conditions for the conservation of the male population and the formation of responsible fatherhood as an important resource for ensuring the national security of the Russian Federation.
