Abstract

Russia and Italy are considered for a long time as correlated dimensional social realities, being conceptual resources for each other, elements of the external environment and the foreign surroundings, sources and factors of development. This special connection is also evident in the field of research that examines the center-region dialectic, as well as regional inequalities and regional polarities. This special comparativist direction of regionalism counts nearly six decades of its history. The present study is a historiographical excursus evaluating the achievements and results obtained by domestic and Italian authors, as well as the prospects for research in this field.
