Abstract

The article is devoted to the influence of the Internet and the virtual environment on the formation of deviant behavior of adolescents and young people. The work focuses on three types of deviant activity of young people on the Internet: risky sexual behavior; participation in groups that promote antisocial, deviant behavior; participation in hate groups. The data of surveys of schoolchildren and students conducted by the sector of the sociology of deviant behavior of the Institute of Sociology of the Federal Scientific Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2018, 2021) are presented. It is shown that the modern virtual space can be fertile ground for supporting a deviant lifestyle and the formation of some forms of deviant behavior.
