Abstract

2023 has been declared the year of the Russian language in the CIS, and it is no coincidence. It is the CIS countries and, above all, the republics of Central Asia that determine the existence of the Russian language outside the borders of the Russian Federation. The authors of the article talk about the appearance of the Russian language in Uzbekistan and highlight the problems of its functioning at the present time, the measures taken to solve them.
