Abstract

The Second World War is a period in human history that arouses undying interest among researchers, due to various reasons. Despite the fact that the events of the war years are moving further away from us, scientists still note that many aspects need further study. Since the second half of the 1980s. In the USSR, in connection with the opening of a number of archival funds, the subject of historical works, including historical and demographic ones, expanded. However, the demographic component of the events of 1939–1945 is still needs further study, including regional material. There is only general information about the demographic changes that occurred in the region in 1939–1945.
