Abstract

Belonging to destructive subcultures is an important risk factor in relation to problematic behavior of adolescents. The relevance of the study is caused by the fact that participation in the online space is an important aspect of involving teenagers in extremist and terrorist movements. The article attempts a systematic review of the role of the Internet and social networks in the violent radicalization of adolescents, identifies ways to prevent extremism in the adolescent environment and intervention in violent radicalization. The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between extremist adolescent subcultures and Internet use and to study the role of various factors in introducing adolescents to destructive subcultures on the Internet. The research methods were quantitative and qualitative analysis of adolescent youth for the reasons of their involvement in destructive subcultures on the Internet, as well as a systematic review of scientific publications related to risk factors contributing to deviant behavior among adolescents. The author comes to the conclusion that the importance of ideology for a teenager follows the entry into extremist subcultures, and does not precede it. Joining a group is part of grouping, which is very important in adolescence. One of the solutions to protect adolescents from criminal acts is preventive actions that begin within the family, and state programs for the social orientation of adolescents and the expansion of their positive opportunities are also needed.
