Abstract

The article is devoted to the demographic situation and the state family and demographic policy of Israel in comparison with Russia. The economic and demographic indicators of both countries in the long term are considered and compared. The distinctive features of the family-demographic policy of Israel are highlighted. An assessment of the role of religion in the reproductive behavior of the Israelis is given. The financial instruments for stimulating the birth rate in Israel and their effectiveness are analyzed. An assessment is made of the age and sex composition of the Israelis in comparison with the Russians. Recommendations have been developed for improving the Russian family and demographic policy on the basis of borrowing the positive experience of Israel. A model for applying the proposed recommendations has been developed, on the basis of which a scenario forecast of the population of Russia has been formed using the “method of aging” without taking into account migration for the period up to 2100. A list of financial instruments for increasing the birth rate in Russia is proposed and calculations of their cost for the federal budget are given.
