Abstract

Ecological behavior is determined by consciousness, peculiarities of ecological culture and upbringing of an individual. An important role in this is played by enlightenment and education, which further influence the rationality of actions, specific actions or inaction, a person's own responsible and thrifty attitude to the environment and nature. Today, the environmental agenda is an urgent component not only in building socio-economic relations, but also in the political aspect, since ESG principles are increasingly dominant in political decision-making. The purpose of this study is to study and determine the attitude of young people to their own rational environmental behavior, as well as to assess the role and formats of responsibility for solving environmental problems at the regional level. The authors use their own tools (questionnaire) to conduct a pilot study in two regions: the south-east of the Moscow Region and the Ryazan region. Despite the fact that the regions border each other, fundamentally different points of view have been identified on many issues. The uniqueness of the study lies in the fact that the results obtained were compared with similar studies by VTSIOM. The average estimate of the studied regions is almost twice as different from the comparison base. Such a difference proves the need to conduct precisely such local regional cross-sections, since only in this case it is possible to identify regional features. The value of the author's results (at this stage of the study) lies in the study of the regional specifics of the designated problem, and the data obtained and the survey methodology can be used by specialists and regional authorities to solve environmental issues.
