Abstract

The article is based on the results of a comprehensive study, including a three-stage analysis of the results of a focus group interview with students of higher educational institutions in 2019-2023, located in various regions of Russia. Accordingly, the main purpose of the article was to identify the impact of the newly emerged socio-political situation in the country on the transformation of the image of the country's future among students and the willingness of young people to take a personal part in bringing this future closer (by comparing the relevant data for 2019-2020 and 2022 - before the pandemic, at its initial stage and in the midst of the pandemic).In part, the project analyzed the influence of two other factors on the formation of the image of the future: the communicative factor (Internet, social networks) and spatial (regional differences). The image of the country 's future is presented in two guises in the project: as an image of the distant future (20-25 years) and as an image of the near future - the «agenda» is a list of the most urgent tasks and problems that require urgent solutions in a certain time frame. The image of the distant future of the country is analyzed from the perspective of a general assessment (optimistic, positive, negative), the development of individual spheres of society (education, medicine, etc.), civilizational projection, basic values, ways and resources to achieve the goal. The near future (agenda) is analyzed mainly from the point of view of individual spheres of society, in relation to the needs and demands of young people.
