Abstract

In the article, using the historiographic method, the issues of the genesis of demographic science, as a separate area of scientific knowledge, are considered. Based on the analysis and synthesis of scientific works of scientists who contributed to the creation of demographic science, various aspects of the population movement are considered, a long way of the formation of demographic science and the development of its tools is shown.
