Abstract

The article explores the complex nature of the intelligentsia, a social group that has been defined in various ways by different scientific disciplines such as sociology, history, political science, psychology, and cultural studies. The multitude of definitions and sometimes conflicting perspectives on the intelligentsia present a challenge for researchers trying to narrow down their focus on this intricate social phenomenon. One particular aspect examined in the article is the influence of professional dynasty on the formation, preservation, and reproduction of the intelligentsia. The study delves into how intra-family trajectories of education and upbringing contribute to the accumulation and transmission of cultural-moral capital, which is essential for defining intelligence as a behavioral standard. To conduct this research, the authors have utilized data gathered from their previous studies on professional dynasties across various industries from 2015 to 2020. Additionally, information, obtained from the «Cultural Heritage and Intergenerational Connections» project in 2022, has been also incorporated. The findings of this study has not only shed light on the significant role of dynasty in preserving the intelligentsia as a social group but also reveal emerging trends and directions for the transformation of its cultural-moral potential.
