Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study of the transformation of labor migration to Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The work identifies trends and specifics of the dynamics of attraction and use of foreign labour in the domestic economy at different stages of the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. Analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on the functioning of the foreign labour market was carried out. The consequences of the adaptation of migrant workers during the development of the pandemic are revealed. Strategies of migrants' behaviour in the future are evaluated. Particular attention is paid to the problems of regulating the attraction and use of foreign labour during the period of overcoming the consequences of the pandemic, taking into account the strategic objectives of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation. The work is based on the results of the analysis of official statistical information and sociological surveys of labour migrants from near and far abroad conducted by the authors. The main results and conclusions of the study can be used to improve migration policy in Russia.
