Abstract

Alcohol is the cause of many diseases, both physical and emotional, as well as the cause of various injuries and is the fifth most important risk factor for premature death worldwide. The purpose of the article is to analyze the current understanding of students about the normative ideas regarding alcohol consumption, as well as to assess the proportion of problematic alcohol consumption among students and related factors, which can contribute to the development of effective preventive measures for alcohol abuse among young people. The article presents the results of a study of behavioral risks among students (2016-2017; 2020-2022), the survey was conducted in several regions of the Russian Federation (Moscow, Krasnodar, Yaroslavl). The peculiarities of the influence of alcohol on the normative ideas of young people are revealed. It was found that the value consciousness of young people is characterized by instability and inconsistency: despite the fact that the vast majority of respondents (81%) note health as one of the main values of life, while more than 70% consume alcoholic beverages with different frequency. The necessity of prevention of alcohol abuse at a young age is emphasized.
