Abstract

The article presents the dynamics of changes (2010-2021) in the level of food consumption in the context of macro-regions - federal districts of Russia. The analysis was carried out on the basis of state statistics data for the whole country and for macro-regions. The differences in the change in the volume of consumer spending of the Russian population for 2018-2021, the share of household spending on food purchases in the overall structure of consumer spending are shown. The differentiation of territories with respect to the dynamics of consumption of a number of the most important food products that are important for the formation and maintenance of health (and a healthy lifestyle) of the population is considered. Deviations in certain macro-regions from the Recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on rational norms of food consumption, as well as from the average Russian indicators, were revealed; in particular, trends in reducing the consumption of milk and dairy products, fruits and berries; increasing the consumption of meat and meat -containing products (positive trend) and sugar (negative trend) were traced. Relatively new trends aimed at adherence to reasonable nutrition of residents of large cities of Russia are presented.
