Abstract

This issue discusses understanding and new approaches to the study of transformations of the welfare state. These transformations are an integral part of our reality, in the context of changing perceptions of social risks and opportunities for minimization, which are becoming less standardized. The individualization of social risks and the new sociality manifested in network solidarity imply changes. Deterministic and linear explanations of the development of interconnections are outdated, but neither experts nor governments of social states have yet provided citizens with convincing
