Abstract

The institution of the family in Russia is undergoing transformations, but in comparison with the family of Western society it remains a fairly traditional social institution. According to the results of sociological research, the moral values and moral norms preserved by older generations are oriented towards the performance of reproductive, educational, controlling, communicative, recreational, and emotional functions in the process of socialization of new generations, but their content is adjusted by both the family and external factors. The purpose of the work is to identify the specifics of the role of urban and rural families in the socialization of students of secondary specialized educational institutions. In the course of the research of the Russian Society of Sociologists Cultural traditions and the connection of generations (ROS 2022), students of the Secondary educational institutions of Russia, mainly studying in 1-3 courses, were interviewed. According to the profile of study — students of technical, socio-economic, natural sciences, humanities and other specialties. The survey was conducted using the online questionnaire method
