Abstract

Summary: The article carries out a research of the “Soviet per-son” ideology forming impact on ethno-social pro-cesses in the Soviet Union. The author emphasizes the significance of the Soviet identity as an institu-tional background in which ethnic identities of both titular and non-titular ethnic groups were forming. In author’s opinion, the Soviet identity was used by people with marginal ethnic status which slackened ethno-genesis processes. Close institutional connec-tion between the Soviet person features and Russian language and identity became one of the reasons that in the transitive period de-sovietization has led to par-tial de-Russianization of the Post-Soviet ethno-social space. Keywords: ethno-genesis, Soviet person, ethnicity, ideology, titu-lar ethnic group.
