Abstract

Papers by Participants of the IV All-Russian Scientific Symposium with International Involvement «Social and Political Transformation of Modern Russia: Searching for Models of Sustainable Development», held from April 21 to 25, 2014 in the Moscow Region are collected in this book. The authors’ papers are centered around dominant trends in the socio-political changes in the Russian society within the context of the transition to the model of «sustainable development», which is becoming more closely associated with the emergence of a multipolar world. Debates on dynamics of innovative development, more and more requesting relevant political regimes democracy (polyarchy) and power («smart power», «soft power») are of interest too. Considerable space is devoted to the analysis of socially oriented management approach that allows to expand the managerial tools of influence on the processes of transformation by involving the resources of civil society, social and human capital, keeping in mind their growing significance along with transition to innovative type of development. Separate section of the book contains Proceedings of the Round Table «Regional Authority and Local Government: what hinders the Development of Regions?», held within the framework of the Moscow economic forum (March 2014). The book is targeted for anyone interested in the problems of socio-political transformation of contemporary societies, the impact of various reforms, approaches aiming at maintaining dynamic equilibrium of a political system and building constructive interaction between government and civil society.
