Abstract

The article deals with principal process, which led to obtaining of state sovereignty by Montenegro; with constellation of political forces on the eve and in the course of the relevant referendum in 2006; with the role of the external factor in the Montenegro events; and with the place of the new Balkan state in the local system of international relations.
